The (OREUG) welcomes all Oracle Real Estate customers to share knowledge and information between members and to collaborate in influencing future Oracle solution enhancements for this industry.
WHY PURGE AND ARCHIVE?
Purging and archiving data from JD Edwards is difficult for any JDE customer. The inter-relationships between files, batches, and all those ‘idiosyncrasies’ in the JDE database make it much harder that it would at first seem.
The task for the real estate and/or homebuilder customers gets even harder. Leases and versions complicate things for property management customers. The proliferation of MCUs (business units) in the homebuilder industry, with the abnormally huge account master and account balance tables (compared to your ‘typical’, say manufacturing, customer) make purging for homebuilder an additional challenge.
ARCTOOLS has been working with JDE customers for over 12 years on purge and archive, including both homebuilder and property management customers. This session will present an overview of purge and archive, some potential benefits, information about purge/archive as related to upgrades, and also specific considerations for property management and homebuilder customers.
