What is INFOCUS & why is the community SO excited?

The JD Edwards INFOCUS Conference offers “in-depth” education into JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and World in a way that isn’t possible at COLLABORATE. This event is a true deep dive.

The community has built a strong program and is eager to take a deeper look into the products and re-invigorate the year long Special Interest Group programs. This event promises to do both while complementing the learning and work done at COLLABORATE. Better yet, it’s in Denver – the home of JD Edwards.

And make plans to join one of our ARCTOOLS sessions.

Archiving, Upgrades Data Lifecycle Management and the Cloud

JDE-105390

Abstract: Archiving and purging old data has always been a good idea – for performance, upgrades, liability, DR, and to make users happier. But beyond archive and purge is a larger concept – data lifecycle management, including not just moving old data to an on-premise archive environment. It includes data destruction, offsite, protected data storage, and application retirement. This session will cover the basics: why, why it’s so difficult, how, ROI, data destruction, archiving to the cloud and application retirement. Archiving to the cloud starts with storing data in the cloud. But it can also include query or reporting access, or even access through some application like JDE. Application retirement means moving an entire application to the Cloud where to be accessed for historical purposes. Reasons include ‘retiring’ a pre-upgrade system (your World instance before E1), or a ‘never been purged’ version of your data, or an acquired company’s SAP instance before bringing them onto JDE.

Archiving and Upgrades: A Success Story From Environmental Solutions Group

Session: 103990

Abstract: Oracle recommends archiving your data as part of an upgrade. It is one of the most effective means to improve system performance and user productivity. Archived data can be stored on-site or in the cloud. ARCTOOLS has hundreds of Oracle JD Edwards customers that needed to purge and archive their data – for an upgrade, to improve system performance, to shorten disaster recovery times or even to reduce legal liability from old historical data. This session will discuss why customers choose purging and archiving, why it’s so difficult, the benefits realized, real-world results, ROI, and specifics about Environmental Solutions Group. Attendees will learn why Environmental Solutions Group observed “massive performance wins for both users and DBAs” and why when asked “what would you have done differently?,” responded “I would have done it sooner.” Learn from ESG’s experience how important archiving can be to the success of an upgrade project, and/or to improve performance overall.
